Advocacy

The B-CC Chamber was formed to fill the need for coordinated business advocacy in our community. Our commitment to advocating on behalf of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area business community has not changed, but we need your involvement now, more than ever.

Your involvement really does make a difference. Whether it’s writing a personal letter to your county councilmember or learning about the issues that shape each election, if you’re not making your voice heard, someone else is. Similarly, elected representatives can be undecided or unfamiliar with the details of an issue, which gives much more weight to each informed letter or phone call they receive.
Let your members of Congress, state representatives, county executive and councilmembers know what you think about the issues – to find out who your legislators are, please go to the Public Officials page.

The Chamber’s advocacy efforts are addressed by their committees. Together with the Board of Directors, they annually develop the Chamber's Advocacy Agenda that addresses the current issues that affect doing business in the Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase community. These committees, which meet every month and are open to all members of the Chamber, include:

     • Economic Development and Government Affairs Committee; and
     • Real Estate Committee.

For more information on these committees, when they meet and their leadership, click here to go to the Committees page.
